Harness Late Summer Energy: Bodyweight Exercises and Self-Care

late summer energy self care

Center to periphery…..Give and Receive…  The energy of the Late Summer is round, heavy, pulling, and scooping.  We are part of nature, and as you can feel, it is hot humid, and heavy.  It is not an easy time to jump into a new workout routine.  If you are looking to refine or adjust your exercise this time of year, put down the weights.

A workout in this energy will use your own body for weight.  We can accomplish this with sliders and resistance bands.  Some other ideas are using variations of lunges and squats to intensify the exercise without adding weight.  Add pushups, tricep dips, and burpees.  Walking, running and biking are good forms of cardio as they put your feet on the ground.  The Earth is there to receive what you want to let go of and feed you with each step and roll.   Self-care is important, remember that rest days are just as equally important as workout days.  Take rest days to nourish and replenish and make your next acupuncture appointment so we can support your body through these modifications.
